Anxiety Resilience Program

Anxiety Resilience Program

Get Our From Under Your Anxiety, So It No Longer Gets In the Way of What Matters Most to You.

If anxiety is a problem in your life, you’re not alone.

Anxiety is a very common problem in the U.S., affecting 40 million adults in the United States, 18% of the population.

So many people are affected by anxiety, and yet many people with anxiety think that they are the only ones struggling. Worse, they often think something is wrong with them. But I can tell you…

There is nothing wrong with you. You simply have a relationship with anxiety that is not workable because it keeps you from living the life you want to live.

If you’ve had anxiety for any length of time, chances are you’ve already tried many ways to decrease it. The fact that you’re still struggling with anxiety isn’t for lack of trying, I’m sure. Many people with anxiety put a lot of effort into managing it and often feel exhausted from dealing with anxiety day to day.

The problem is that many common strategies people try to keep their anxiety at bay, actually get in the way of living the life they want…just as much as the anxiety itself.

You may have discovered that trying to force it to go away by distracting yourself or trying to think your way out of anxiety, doesn’t work for the long term. Avoiding activities (that you actually really want to do) and avoiding people (that you actually really want to spend time with) to try to control anxiety often causes you to miss out on things that are important to you. Some people try to avoid anxiety by using drugs or alcohol, but this can end up causing even greater problems in their lives.

Overall, you may have found that the strategies you’ve tried may work for the short term and give you a short break from anxiety…but these methods aren’t sustainable, and take up a lot of the valuable time and energy you could be using toward other more meaningful things. And the break you get from using these strategies doesn’t give you enough relief from anxiety to make it worth the cost to you and to living a meaningful life.

Fortunately, there is a better way.

This program will help you radically change the relationship you have with your anxiety.

You could have back those important parts of your life that you’ve been missing out on…or may have even given up on…because of your anxiety. In addition, this program can improve the quality of your life significantly. People who have learned and practiced the skills in this program reported significant reductions in their anxiety, fear, worry and depression. (Depression often goes hand-in-hand with anxiety.)

People rarely talk about the beating-up-on-yourself that often goes hand in hand with anxiety, and yet this is what many people with anxiety do. This program helps cultivate your capacity for self-compassion and self-acceptance, to help you stop being so hard on yourself.

The skills in this program have been proven by research to work, so you can be confident in knowing you’re not “trying out” something that may or may not help you get the results you want. If you put the work in and are willing to have an open mind and do things differently than you have before, you will get results.

And the great thing is, you don’t have to do years of therapy in order to handle your anxiety more effectively and live a more vital life.

You can choose an option that fits for you, from 6-weeks, 12-weeks, or longer if you want to go at a slower pace and take your time.

What It Is:
An effective, efficient and individualized program that incorporates guided learning, skills training, and counseling. It’s comprised of weekly or bi-weekly one-to-one, 1-hour sessions and independent study between sessions. It’s like taking a course with a private teacher/mentor/coach leading you through every step of the way. This program is based on the principles of mindfulness that are most effective for handling anxiety. The program will most likely be covered by your health insurance and can be completed in 6 to 12 weeks. (See more details below.)

What It’s Not:
One more thing to try and be disappointed by. The practices in this program are supported by scientific research. If you commit to exploring, understanding, and practicing them, your experience of anxiety will change.

Who It’s For:
People who want to get a better handle on the anxiety they experience so that it does not get in the way of what’s important and living a vital life.

What It Helps With:
This program helps with all types of anxiety, including OCD, panic, generalized anxiety, phobias, social anxiety, and PTSD.

This program is for you if:

  • everything you’ve tried so far hasn’t really helped with your anxiety in the long term and you’re ready for something new, something you’ve never tried before.
  • you understand that there is no magical solution to end your anxiety.
  • you’re willing to put time and effort into attending sessions and practicing new skills you learn, because you’ve realized that if you keep doing what you’ve always done, you’re going to get the results that you’ve always gotten.

This program is not for you if:

  • you want a quick fix to make your anxiety go away.
  • you don’t have time, energy, or willingness to put in some effort to attend sessions and learn and practice skills between sessions.
  • you want to continue trying the same old advice out there, (“Think positively!” “Be fearless!”) that says it’s possible to just think your way out of anxiety, or use sheer willpower to make anxiety, worry and fear go away.

My Experience With the Skills in This Program

From an early age, I was a high-anxiety kid. I did lots of therapy from college years into adulthood, yet I still experienced a significant amount of anxiety. Several years ago I started learning and practicing the skills outlined in this program in my own life and they have helped me to completely change my relationship with my own anxiety, worry and fears. In my 10 years’ experience as a therapist, this program is the most effective way I’ve found to help people with their anxiety.

Because health insurance often covers the cost of counseling for anxiety problems, you will likely be able to use insurance to pay for sessions. (I am able to accept many common insurances.) You would be responsible for paying your copay for each session, which varies plan to plan, but is usually between $15 and $35/session.

I have a number of Reduced Fee Scholarship Slots available that you are welcome to apply for if you do not have insurance or you do not want to use your insurance to cover the cost of counseling. These slots are based on financial necessity. You may also choose to have 30-minute sessions for $50 or 45-minute sessions for $75, if you do not qualify for a Reduced Fee Scholarship Slots but can not afford the full fee. Spreading out sessions to every other week (Option 3 below) also makes it more affordable. We can discuss what will work best for you during our initial call.

Program Options

Option One–12 Weeks: Complete the full program in 12 weeks, with a session scheduled every week. This option is perfect for people who are ready and willing to dedicate some time and energy to changing their experience with anxiety for good and want to do this as efficiently as possible.

Option Two–6 Weeks: Complete the first half of the program in 6 weeks with sessions scheduled every week, and finish the second half of the program on your own as a self-study course. This option is great for people who want the guidance and structure offered in the first half of the program to gain momentum, and they’re self-motivated enough to complete the second half independently.

Option Three–24 weeks: Complete the full program in 24 weeks, with a session scheduled every other week. Yes, this option takes 6 months, but it works well for people who have a lot going on in life at the moment and reading/studying between weekly sessions would feel like too much at this time. This option takes a slower pace so you can take your time with the material, and helps make it more affordable if cost is a factor.
